The receipts.
After getting my B.A. degree in English (emphasis in Creative Writing!) from SF State, I got a master’s in Professional and Technical Writing from Portland State, where I created my own program of study: "Writing to Entertain."
Since then, I’ve copyedited Westerns for publication, content edited a novel and a memoir, and I’ve written marketing copy for myriad clients and employers. I’ve worked in film production, 14 years in the toy industry, and lately in the museum industry. I’ve added interpretive writing to my list of professional skills. I even made it official: I’m a Certified Interpretive Planner.
For personal projects, I maintain creative anonymity using a pen name. I’ve published personal essays and memoirs, and several of my screenplays have been finalists in numerous competitions. I've studied writing with Steve Almond, Robert McKee, Lee Montgomery, Debra Gwartney, Tom Spanbauer, and Michael McGregor, to name a few greats.

I love a blank page. Almost as much as I love typing “The End.” I know that writing is rewriting. I’ve spent a decade as a professional editor, from proofing copy to developmental editing and everything in between, improving my collaboration skills, my editing processes, and always navigating the story. I also tell stories in person and digitally, via photo essays and podcast episodes.
